Mr. Matsuis Music Class
Go BackDrum Programming Continued
Hopefully you're getting comfortable programming your own drum sounds. Let's see if we can make our drum grooves sounding more original.
Changing the Drum Sound
We can change the drum sound by opening the instrument tab, and pressing on the sound name on the left hand side. This opens the menu of different drum sounds, and you can use the small play button next to each name to hear samples of each drum sounds.
Loops
Loops are prerecorded pieces of music, that we can use as the building blocks in our own music. To add loops, we’ll head to the upper right hand corner to the music notes icon. The button opens up a menu, giving us different categories for loops.
Just to get us started, we’ll press Bass, then EDM. This narrows down the amount of loops.
The small play button on the left hand side will let you hear what each loops sound like. Once you find the loop you like, double tap and a new track will be created with the selected loop.
The bass and the drums lay the foundation of the music. Try to see if you can get a sound that goes well together.
